The children will experiment with a variety of materials and techniques that will help develop drawing skills. Topics covered will include texture, shading, and cartooning.

CS FIRST GOOGLE teaches computer programming and coding with age-appropriate online videos walking you step by step as you follow along and code.

​

Your child will learn to make creative problem-solving concrete and tangible. They will learn basic coding skills through activities on websites, apps, and hands-on games. The main focus of the class will be learning big picture concepts for coding: strong logic, sequencing skills, and a "can-do" attitude. We will track their progress so that they feel prepared for more difficult topics like making games and animations in Scratch, which they can try out in future grades. No coding experience is required!

TYNKER: CODING
FOR KIDS 

Tynker: Coding for Kids teach critical 21st century skills, including computer programming, critical thinking, and problem solving. They will learn how to logically sequence events, create playable games, tell good stories, and model real situations.

NASA KIDS

NASA provides a safe place for children to play as they learn about NASA and its missions.
They will find games of various skill levels for children of all ages. These games support national education standards in STEM -- science, technology, engineering and mathematics. 
The NASA Kids' Picture Show is an image gallery of some of NASA's coolest and most interesting pictures. 


The Now in Space slideshow introduces young explorers to the crew currently orbiting Earth on the International Space Station.

DRAMA 

In Drama we will work on creative thinking skills, encourage teamwork, and provide our children with an enriched learning experience in the area of performing arts. ​Taking a practical approach to the technical and production aspects of musical theater and drama. Our children will learn the skills needed to construct scenery, hang and focus lighting instruments, implement a sound system for effects and reinforcement, and scenic artistry, all in a variety of techniques.

​They will also learn different aspects of theatre including impromptu skits, improv, 

monologues, pantomimes, blocking, playwriting, prop selection, theatre terminology, historical, cultural, and societal influences, analysis and evaluation of dramatic literature, movement and vocal production, technical theatre, and design, audience etiquette, the role of the director, 

auditioning, casting production, stage crew, artwork, props, and costumes to be used in our productions.

MINI-GOLFERS

Our curriculum was specially designed by industry-leading golf professionals and education specialists to ensure that the lesson plans are age-appropriate. The children will experience a mix of golf instruction, rules and etiquette lessons, educational components, character development lessons, and physical activity as they advance through the five-level program.

This club promotes interaction with adults, and children who are less privileged than we are, to gain experience and knowledge about the world around us. The club takes part in community service events, and gives our children the opportunity to serve the community through organizations.

Every Monday Matters mean something amazing, something incredible, something unbelievable can happen on those dreaded Mondays. Every Monday Matters does this by taking 52 Mondays, providing 52 creative but doable activities, giving 52 down-to-earth ways to make a difference, one for each Monday of the year. It's a perfect way to have a positive impact, get others involved, and make a difference in your life and the lives of others. ​For all ages.

K.U.D.O.S.

K.U.D.O.S. (Kids Understanding Differences and Overcoming Stereotypes)

​

The purpose of K.U.D.O.S. is to encourage children to embrace and understand others with special needs. K.U.D.O.S. provides opportunities to build each child's character, increase acceptance of disabilities and differences, and develop leadership and other skills.

Some topics we will cover are

Racism, the older generation, 

Blind, Autism, 

Wheelchair-Bound, Deaf, 

Down Syndrome, Dwarfism, etc.

BETA 

The Beta recognizes high academic achievement, promotes character and social responsibility, encourages service involvement to school and community, fosters leadership skills, and provides the setting to develop interpersonal relationship skills.

Our Beta continually develops and nurtures individuals by providing opportunities and experiences enabling them to demonstrate the ideals of character, achievement, service,  leadership in the community  and to build a positive future for themselves.

GEMS and GENTS

Join us as we explore something new and exciting from a wide range of age-appropriate S.T.R.E.A.M.S topics in nature like biologists, run experiments like chemists, observe the stars like astronomers, measure our world like geologists, understand the human body like physicians. Learning about engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, discovering how rockets blast into orbit, create Magnetic Slime, explore chemical reactions, and more!

They will be engaged in topics such as: describing objects as alive or not alive, comparing acids and bases, experimenting with forces, learning what role magnets have on earth, and much more. They will also conduct experiments and engage in multi-sensory activities to help provide them with first-hand knowledge experiences and help them become more confident in their understanding of the natural world.

This  is all about helping our children to gain confidence in the STEM field so they can be competitive in the 21st century, learn about various Stem careers as they take part in a variety of activities tailored to them, and learn about scientific accomplishments made by African-Americans and Women while supporting each other in their own path to achievement.

BUILD A
MODEL 

To promote modeling in all its forms. is to come together to have fun and enjoy modeling.

The objective is to provide children with a challenging project that allows practical experience in design, fabrication, and testing. They will work as a team to design and build a vehicle, train, water travel or aircraft models, etc. Skills will be developed in design, engineering, metalworking, woodworking, small engines, aerodynamics, etc. 

JEWELS and CROWNS

Jewels and Crowns is a Character Building Program. Girls are taken through a series of Character and Strength building lessons and can earn badges and Jewels for their crowns. Boys are taken through our Warrior series with many adventures to earn them badges and jewels for their “Warfare Swords.”

SPIES and CSI

Do you like solving mysteries? Decode fingerprints, examine soil, and analyze ink composition. Young spies will be challenged to use the clues to solve the crime building logic and critical thinking skills all while completing fun and challenging missions. 

The children will encounter a variety of mysteries. Some days will be spent doing online forensic-style work that examines real life mysteries. Other days will feature mystery-themed board and card games. Mystery movies will also be shown. Puzzles, riddles, and other brain challenges will appear from time to time. Students will also have the opportunity to attend a real life escape room. Both cooperation and competition are utilized to make each meeting different.

WORLD OF NATURE

World of Nature offers our children the opportunity to harvest crops after school hours and become active donors to our local food bank, helping children and families in need.

We will promote a deep understanding of sustainability, service learning, leadership, and community outreach through agricultural education.

Through our World of Nature Club we hope to:

 

  • Strengthens agriculture  confidence in themselves and their work

  • Builds character and promotes citizenship

  • Develops competent and assertive agricultural leadership

  • Increases awareness of technology in agriculture and contribution to our well-being

There’s an exciting World of Nature waiting to be discovered. We will explore nature from new perspectives as we extract DNA, conduct a Bio Blitz, explore the intricate symbiosis of plants and animals, gain an understanding of the food web, dissect an Owl Pellet, and much more!

INVESTMENT 

At the investment, we manage a $25,000 portfolio of stocks. We pitch new investments and businesses we want to open, discuss market news, analyze our portfolio, and learn more about investing.

To raise awareness for the importance of micro loans, which can help people who do not have access to banks obtain loans to start their own businesses. As a club, we raise money for Kiva, a nonprofit that allows us to lend money with no interest to those in need.

BOOKAHOLICS

Bookaholics is for those who love to read and engage in discussion! Our goal is to read and discuss a new book each month. We will practice speaking and listening skills, build vocabulary, affirm humanity, develop empathy, gain a broader worldview, and read books in the company of friends. 

​

It's a hands-on opportunity to apply and learn the fundamentals of journalistic writing -- including news & sports writing, feature writing, review writing, and opinion writing. They will get the chance to practice and apply skills in design, photography, and video.

SPEECH and DEBATE 

What do Springfield natives Brad Pitt & Lucas Grabeel, Oprah Winfrey, John Belushi, Stephen Colbert, and "Weird Al" Yankovic have in common? They were all members of the National Forensics League, now called the National Speech & Debate Association!!!

This club allows our children to gain confidence and express themselves through their writing, speaking, and research. We will help emphasize the art and skill of persuasion, logic and argumentation as well as competitive success. We enable the children to present real problems and allow them to vocalize their opinions in a safe space. They will get a chance to express their views on a current event and respectfully listen to others’ views, and present thoughtful speeches on topics. 

CIVIL EYES

Civil Eyes is all about social justice through education, dialogue, and action. It is a space to grapple with social issues, as well as to help individuals and the community take the next step of taking action to make a real difference.

 

Civil Eyes aims to open our children's eyes to a world in which injustice is exposed, solutions are sought, and actions are taken, so that they can use their power in a positive way.

“The Learning Club” (TLC).  TLC is in place to assist with homework assignments.  This club offers an extra academic boost featuring personalized tutoring, attention,  support and teaching our children how to do research to attain the answers they are seeking to complete their assignments.

BRAINY BUILDERS

With our guided program, children learn the fundamentals of math & physics as they play. We offer a variety of fun & engaging, age-appropriate projects for beginners all the way to advanced builders.

 

Using creativity, teamwork, and problem solving, our children learn through building, testing various machines, and structures created with LEGO kits.

 

Every new project features thought-provoking themes like simple & motorized mechanisms, outer space, transportation, traveling, and community. We will utilize LEGO Edu and many other established multi-sensory resources to build a foundation for early math literacy too. We will cover numbers, geometry, vocabulary, measurements, and much more!

 

They will be challenged with different building ideas,

participate in contests, and share ideas.

POLITICS

We discuss Politics and unpack any political discussion going on and provides opportunities for activism. We discuss and debate current events and political issues.

We will learn about our local officials, the voting process, civics, government, platforms, community projects, and running a campaign.

In the past, we have held joint debates, have canvassed, created signs, and phone banked.

We get involved with local and national campaigns and we take awesome politically related trips.

In this club, we will write letters to the President, our local officials who make the laws, and people that affect education in this world.

This class is dedicated to learning more about JESUS, the bible, and how they can apply this to their daily lives. We believe Spiritual faith is an important component of healthy human development. We believe in GOD and his commandments. We believe that GOD's love towards us helps us to have self-love and love for others.

​We strive daily to reflect on how we treat ourselves, our friends, our family, and those in our community. We also strive to make better choices and decisions daily. We make a difference because we have faith that we can. 

​There will be no doctrine shared at iPLANETS ACADEMY other than GOD loves us all, and he wants us to do the same with those we interact with. Some of the ways we do that are by sharing with the children the Golden Rules, listening to historical accounts from his HOLY WORD the Bible, sharing the Fruits of the Spirit, giving thanks to GOD, Manners, respecting others, sharing, and showing Gratitude, etc.

ROBOTICS 

Ever wanted to design, build, and program your own robots? Well, here’s your chance! The Robotics Club will help the children to gain invaluable experiences to boost their understanding of Robotics, and software design and help them develop their ability to think abstractly, logically, and analytically. Throughout the program, they will will take on various projects to become familiar with a wide range of robotics topics such as: Scratch Programming, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering, Sensors, Coding, Design Principles and building to construct a robot from scratch to perform a set of tasks. They will be working on skills including PR and Marketing, metalworking, prototyping, computer programming, teamwork, advanced problem solving and communication using quality resources during multiple hands-on activities helping children to acquire essential 21st Century Skills.

BOWLING LEAGUE

Our Youth Bowling leagues entertain children in a friendly, easy paced league which has its main emphasis on fun, an opportunity to learn the sport, an opportunity to compete with friends, and improve your bowling.  It offers fun events like Bowl your Buddy, Beat your teacher, Beat your Parent, and Cosmic Bowling!

One of the benefits of joining our bowling league is how kids learn to work together, every child has an equal chance to compete on every play because there is no “bench” in bowling, there are no cuts or drafts needed in order to participate. Most importantly, they will learn how to win and how to lose with the right attitude.
